Is It Normal For Foreskin To Be Sticked To The Glans And What Should Be Done?

hi, i'm 19 years .... i cannot retract my foreskin when penis is fully erect but i can do it in flaccid state. However,if i'd retract it every day for cleaning, that would cause fissures - the foreskin is sticking to the glans, so when it is retracted 'small pieces' of the glans are tearing ... and it even got blood one time.
Please tell me, should i do something different when i retract it ? Is it normal for foreskin to be sticked to the glans ? i am really afraid to retract it, i do it only 1 time per week maximum

Hi and welcome to HCM. I think you are suffering from phimosis, Phimosis is the inability to retract the foreskin behind the glans in males. Physiologic phimosis is the normal condition in which children are born with a tight foreskin and separation occurs during late childhood and early adolescence.
The inability of the foreskin to retract can lead to difficulty cleaning of the area which can cause balanitis, there can be difficulty or painful urination, painful erection, or paraphimosis.
Your doctor can diagnose phimosis based on a thorough history and physical examination. Additional tests are usually not necessary.
The first choice of treatment is usually a steroid ointment that is locally applied. This treatment has shown a success rate of over 70%. The ointment softens the foreskin and is applied for 4 to 6 weeks. Once full retraction is possible the ointment is discontinued.
If the steroid treatment is not successful, a circumcision might be beneficial. When penis is fully erect the fore skin should retract with out any problem, but in your case you have mentioned that you cannot retract it completely which is not normal. Please consult a surgeon and he will examine you and may suggest a small surgical correction called Circumcision. After the surgery you will be discharged on the same day.
