Is It Normal For Finger To Go Numb After Cut From Glass?

I cut my finger on a glass bottle last weekend. It was quite deep and today I ve taken the steristrips off. Just above the cut and right to the top of the finger is completely numb. Is this normal? And also I keep getting a shooting burning pain in the part of my finger which I can still feel.

No it is not. That means that your digital nerve to the finger is cut and hence the loss of sensation. Take it from a hand surgeon with thousands of cases of experience. And the shooting pain from the part which you can feel is from what is called a neuroma - which occurs when a nerve is cut. Please visit a plastic/microvascular surgeon and a nerve repair needs to be done. That alone will solve both issues.
