Is It Normal For An Infant (3 Months) To Not Make Eye Contact Or Look At Moving Objects?
My 3 month old niece who was born 3 weeks prematurely does not look anyone in the face or make eye contact. She does not follow my finger and does not even appear to see it. She does look at lights, ceilings, and windows. She does not seem to notice when the family dog comes up right next to her. I am concerned that there is a genuine problem here.

Hi, Babies vision has to develop as it grows. Babies can not focus on object that is 6 to 10 inches away from there eyes. But by three months of age, they can follow a moving object,to trace it. As your baby was premature by 3 weeks, you should expect her development a bit later. In case of doubt ,a pediatric specialist/ eye specialist can be consulted when baby is 6 months . Thanks..
