Is It Normal For 13 Months Child Not Able To Walk?
Sir, my baby is now 13 months old. he couldn't started to walk. he can't sit without help of others from the lying position. he doesn't started to move. And also saliva is always coming from his mouth... comparing to other children of his same age , he doesn't started to understand what we r saying. he don;t give any actions... but he started to call me "mamma".if there is any pblm in his development? kindly send me an answer.... thanks
Hi, thanks for asking. I can understand your concerns. Usually children start to walk at 13 months of age but it may be as late as 18 months in some children which is normal. But if he cannot get to sitting position by himself then that is a delay. Also he should be able to understand few things and point like where is the fan? etc. I would suggest you get a formal developmental assessment done for him so that his exact developmental age is determined and the therapy may be started accordingly. I hope I have helped you Thank you Dr. Meera Kotecha Developmental and Behavioural Paediatrician.
