Is It Necessary To Avoid All Soy Products When Diagnosed With Soy Allergy?

My granddaughter was tested for allergies because of perceived adverse reaction to strawberries. Otherwise, no allergy symptoms. They discovered a soy allergy. Is it necessary for her to avoid ALL soy? Will consuming soy make her allergy worse now or later in life? Parents have decided to eliminate dairy products because of acne which futher limits her diet. Age 13.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Once somebody has been detected to have allergic to a substance or group of substances, they should avoid it completely. Sometimes, the reaction it causes can be life threatening.
Well, there are other substitute foods and specially ordered foods which are available which can be used as alternate. Some home based simple reciepies can also be prepared and given. You may contact Nutritionist for further help in this regard.
Best wishes.
