Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.

Psychiatric medication have to be prescribed only after a detailed evaluation of the person. This will include a detailed history (from the patient and other informanta) and a proper psychological assessment.

There are certain mental illnesses where medication is necessary. There are certain other conditions where there is a choice for opting either medication or psychotherapy. So, I would advise you to discuss with your doctor regarding your problem and diagnosis and plan further treatment.

Wish you all the best.
