Is It Advisable To Take Norethisterone For Irregular Periods?

Hi, I was prescribed Norethisterone about a month ago to regulate my periods as I was bleeding constantly. I took it 3 times a day for 1 week as advised by my doctor. After a couple of days I had a normal period. I have not yet had one for this month since taking ti though. Can you advise what action to take?

Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Norethisterone is given to regulate the periods, however this should be taken only once the cause of irregular bleeding is confirmed by proper examination and investigations.
I will suggest you to get your ultrasound and hormonal profile done, and if required, then endometrial biopsy should be done to confirm the diagnosis and get appropriate treatment.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
