Is It Advisable To Split Diamicron Dosage Into Half For Diabetes?
Hi i am a female 67 years, i was on daomil and glucophage 500...my doctor recently switched the daonil to diamicron 60 mr 1/2 tab daily but my fasting sugar is 150-160 every morning ...can i break the tab and take halt at breakfats and half at dinner

Diamicron recommended daily dose vary from 30 mg to 120 mg , which should be taken in one time during breakfast time . Dosage are adjusted in step wise manner if glucose levels are not controlled , as starting doses are 30 mg then 60 , 90 and 120 mg successively and between two there should be one month gap .
Dosage should be adjusted strictly based on Glucose tests and HbA1c levels .I would advise you to consult further with your GP and get HbA1c done , so that dosage can be adjusted effectively . This medicine is better to take in single intake at breakfast time .
