Hello,
It is common after any pelvic procedure to have some difficulty in sphincter function of the bladder and the bowel; also owing to the procedure, some amount of constipation can be expected. If you do not have any pain over the abdomen or any discomfort, you may wait until you see your doctor; your son may not have been able to observe things clearly. Sometimes, hard stool can also be felt through a thin abdominal wall. Hope you find this information useful. Take care.
