Is Irritability A Normal Side Effect Of Ritalin 10?

Hi my 10yr son has been put onto ritalin 10 about 6 weeks ago, 2 in the morning and 1 at lunch. we are noticing that in the morning as soon as he opens his eyes, he flys of at any and every thing and this contunies until he get on the school bus. is this irratabitily a normal side effect.

Hello
It seems from the history that your 10 year old son is on treatment with ritalin. Ritalin is methyl phenidate and it is used commonly for treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity in children.
The common side effects are abdominal pain, irritability, loss of appetite, loss of sleep...
Hence irritability seen in your son can be because of side effect of the drug.
