Is Intermittent Pain In Chest Due To Heart Disease?

I have been having generalized pain across my chest area for about a month now. It comes and goes. Some days none at all. Other days quite a bit. I m 65 male and in good general health. I m not overweight and have good bp 115/75. I don t know if the pain is due to anxiety or to something associated with my heart. For several years I have been taking 10 mg of Propranolol per day to slow down my heart rate. I have some minor afib. The pain, when I have it, is not sharp or intense. When I m physically active (gym, golf) I don t experience anything. Ideas??

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are wondering if intermittent pain in chest due to heart disease . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but in your case the symptoms are probably due to acid reflux or due to lung infection . I would suggest you to consult chest specialist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order x-ray and examine physically . Doctor may also refer you to gastroenterologist for acid reflux problem . Also consult cardioloist if condition doesn't get well for any heart problem .I would suggest you to eat light and non spicy specially at night , take antacid after every meal , take light walk after every meal and keep your head elevated while lying down .
