Is Intake Of Chemical Cleaner A Cause For Concern?

I think I drank Lysol from residue in my hands from several wipes. My face started tingling and I taste Lysol in my mouth. I have tried rinsing with water, but I can't seem to get it off my face/out of my mouth. What should I do? What will happen?

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern.

As per your query you drank Lysol which is a chemical cleaner and yes definitely a matter of concern as it is symptomatic in your case.

I would suggest you to take few preventive measures such as drink glass of milk as it will prevent mucosal irritation because lysol is a phenol derivative which cause damage to mucosa.

You should consult emergency department without any delay as these products are corrosive poison and do harm mucosa and sometimes condition get complicated if any amount of such product remains in the body . Doctor may perform gastric lavage to remove even a small amount of lizol from your body.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
