Is Insulin Injection Only Option To Treat Diabetes?

My mother is 62 years old and suffering from High BP for the last 10 years and Diabities since last 2 years. Her treatment is still going on. Till today she was taking medicines but now doctors are saying that she has to take insuline injection. After taking every precaution, before meal her suger level is 145 and after meal 280. What can i do in this condition? Is insulin injection is only option or any ways are still pending?

short answer : if blood sugar is not controlled by medications insulin is the only choice left
detailed answer:
many of the medications used to control the blood sugar acts on the beta cells to produce insulin but when these drugs are taken regularly over a long period it damages the pancreatic beta cells which produce insulin. when there is no adequate beta cells to release insulin you have to supplement insulin from outside.
this is like when the light is not burning you change the bulb and you keep on doing it but if the current is not there there will be no use in changing the bulb.
nowadays the size of the insulin syringe needles are becoming smaller and smaller. especially the pen syringes. and more over there are insulin pumps which are available in the market. you can choose any of these options if you feel painful in injecting insulin. hope this explains
