Is Inhalation Of Colored Clay Slip A Serious Cause For Concern?
I was in my Clay class and an individual was sniffing the colored slip across from me and said that it smelled like an anesthetic. After doing so, she pushed the jar up to my nose and I accidentally breathed, and I'm worried about possible brain damage or loss of neurons. Is this an issue that requires reoccurrence to have an effect? Am I already in danger? I'm extremely paranoid at the moment, so any advice is appreciated.
Dear patient, from the smell that u describe, what that colored slip carries appears to a toluene/ volatile organic compound containing product. Such products are harmful, if inhaled regularly and in a dependent manner. In long term, such products lead to demyelination in brain and harmful effects like changes in behavior such as irritability, low mood and other symptoms like loss of appetite, malaise, bodyaches, frequent mouth, nose, throat and lung infections. Loss of memory, decline in intelligence may occur after years of use. one sniff doesnt cause a significant harm that u should be worried about.. so pls relax, but pls donot do it again.
