Dear Dr.
i took a hiv test ( anti hiv1/2 and p24) at 26 days after exposure. the index value is 0.40 and cut off value is 0.9. prescribed as non reactive. after the test. at about 28 day after exposure , i feel fever for 2day and tonsillitis for 3 day until now. i think i feel myalgia an

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
You had the HIV Combo test which is a 4th generation test and highly reliable. As the index value is lower than the cut of value and had been done almost 4 weeks after the high risk contact it is almost sure that you are free from HIV 1 infection as the Ag part of the test is conclusive by this time. HIV 1 is the most commonest infection all over the world except in Africa.
Antibody part of the test would become more conclusive only after 12 weeks time . That would eliminate the possibility of both HIV 1&2.
