Is Increase In Myopia Correlated To Progress In Cataract?

I have myopia my number was - 9 five years ago when my doctor saw onset of cataract in right eye slowly in five years my number in right eye has increased to -14 and cataract has also progressed are these two things correlated. There is nothing wrong with Retina or other anatomical parameters

cataract does not increase power. but in the stage of sclerosis temporarily it improves in minus correction. but it is purely temporary.
