Hi thanks for question, ichthyosis is long lastisng disease,it does not cure completely,so the treatment only to reduce seviarity of symptoms.you should hydrate skin by using hydroxilc acids like lactic acid and petroleaum jelly.steroids do not effect ichthyosis.please do consult your dermatologist.if it is severe he will give you retionoids.
here some self measures:Use a sponge, such as a loofa sponge, to remove the thickened skin.
Choose mild soaps .
Avoid strongly scented and antibacterial soaps.
After showering or bathing, gently pat or blot your skin dry with a towel so that some moisture remains on the skin.
Apply moisturizer or lubricating cream while your skin is still moist from bathing.
