Is 'human Mixtard' Insulin Necessary For Controlling Blood Sugar Levels?
Dear Sir,I DIPAK H PATEL AM NOT KNOW MORE IN MEDICINE PLEASE HELP US FOR THE BELOW BY YOUR BEST SUGGESIONS.My sister inlaw AGE 25 YRS ONLY(FEMALE),Wt.: 44 kg .have suffered from high blood sugar from last 2 years and one she was admitted in ICU also before last Sep 2011 for the suddenly high TO THE LEVEL 450 effect of it and body became like freezed.CURRENTLY SUGAR LEVEL IS ON ABOVE 200 TO 220 At present she is being treated by Doctor in AHMEDABAD,GUJARAT,INDIA.And he suggest some medicine as below1. ECOSPRIN AV 75 -1 TAB AT NIGHT AFTER DINNER DAILY2. REMYLIN D - 1 TAB AT NIGHT AFTER DINNER DAILY3. PRELINE M75 - 1 TAB AT NIGHT AFTER DINNER DAILY4.GLUCODAY 50 - AT NOON WHILE EATING WITH FIRST BITE OF LUNCH 5.RANTAC D - 15 MIN BEFORE BREAKFAST & DINNER.6.INJECTION : HUMAN MIXTARD - 20 UNITS BEFORE 30 MINS OF BREAKFAST & 12 UNITS AT BEFORE DINNER DAILY.PLEASE SUGGEST ME THAT ALL MEDICINE PRESCRIBED BY DOCTOR IS NECESSARILY REQUIRED FOR THE SAME OR ANY SIDE EFFECTS OF IT.?

Blood sugar levels to the tune of 450-500 can not be Managed by taking just oral anti diabetic medicines and do need injectable insulin for it's control.She is very young and hence it is required that she be managed more aggressively.Her blood sugar levels are still above 200 snd hence there is need to increase the dose of insulin.
Alternatively GLUCOBAY 50 can be stopped and VOGLIBOSE .3 mg three times a day can be added.
Discuss with your treating doctor about it.
