Is Huge Goiter On Neck A Thyroid Disorder?

My daughter's thyroid was tested last Friday and the results where that the levels are extremely high. When she was 7 years old they said she had hashimotos and then told me they decided she did not have it, her levels where not high enough to call it that. Her symptoms began to occur right after she had her tonsils and adenoids removed. She now has a shockingly huge goiter on her neck. The doctors where shocked at how large her tonsils where as well back when she was five. I feel like it has to be related. It can't just be a coincidence. Perhaps the tonsils where enlarged do to an underlining thyroid disorder. What do you think?

Hello and thank you for asking on HCM!
I can understand your concern regarding to your daughter's problems.
There are two different pathologies not related to each other.
You should check the thyroid function by doing these exams;
-TSH, Ft4 and Ft3.
An ultrasound of the thyroid gland is also helpful to see the structure of the gland, if there are nodules or is an autoimmune disease causing the enlargment.
It will be a pleasure to help you further after the above results.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
