Hello Lakhan,

I can understand your concern. Pleomorphic adenoma is a benign tumor of the parotid gland, which is very common and it also has potential to progress towards malignancy/cancer.

Surgical resection is the only treatment for this tumor and I would advise you not to go for homeopathic treatment as it may not show results and you may have to suffer from other complications due to delay in treatment.

Actually, there are two approaches for the removal of this tumor. Either only the tumor is removed with some part of parotid salivary gland or whole parotid gland is removed. It seems possible that the first approach is used in the previous surgeries which has very high recurrence rate. If the whole gland will be removed, the chances of recurrence will not be there as there will be no gland to give rise to the tumor. You can discuss this option with your surgeon. Nerve grafting and radiation will be involved in the treatment. In addition, you will have to take salivary substitutes after surgery to combat saliva deficiency after surgery.

I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
