Is Heart Attack Genetic?

My father had attacks where he appeared to fall asleep but did not move. On at least two occasions, my mother (a nurse) thought he was dead after having no vital symptoms for 20 minutes.
It was cured by having a pace maker fitted.
What were the likely causes and is it likely to be genetic in nature?

hi,
it may or may not be a heart attack...it could be syncope attack caused by problem with the conduction defect in the heart..
there can be a genetic link for this disease..but not always..do not worry..
get a basic evaluation with your GP..he may advice for an ekg. which helps to rule out any conduction defects.
if you have any more queries i would be happy to
help you..
I find this answer helpful
