Is Headache And Blurred Vision After Undergoing Angioplasty A Sign Of Hyperperfusion Syndrome?

Hi my father underwent an angioplasty 2 days ago but has since developed a severe headache with blurry vision. Although not constant when it comes on, he feels terrible pain and is worried it may be related to the angioplasty. He saw his GP today who thinks the headache may be related to medicines administered during and after the procedure. Can you help? I ve read about hyperperfusion syndrome, but don t want to get ahead of myself.

Hi,

You have not mentioned if it was a coronary angioplasty or carotid artery angioplasty. The hyperperfusion syndrome is associated with carotid artery angioplasty not with former one and headache and blurred vision are the sypmtoms.

In both cases you have to consult local specialist who has done the procedure.

Regards
