Is Hard Heart Muscle Responsible For Congestive Heart Failure?

I HAD TESTS ON HEART AND ALL WAS WELL EXCEPT THE MUSCLE OF THE HEART WAS 'HARD'
CAN THIS BE THE REASON FOR CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE?
i AM 78 YEARS OF AGE, 5'5 AND WEIGH 173. NO HISTORY OF HEART PROBLEMS UNTIL EXTREME SHLORTNESS OF BREATH AND EXTREME EDEMA IN ANKLE AND LEGS.

I really appreciate your concern and I would like to say that if this is the heart failure then this may not be due to hard heart muscles as a matter of fact the term that you used here HAD is not the proper term but could be poor contractility, and this could be due to coronary artery disease, take care and have a nice day.
