Is Gestational Sac Of 9mm With Missed Fetal Pole In First Ultrasound A Cause For Concern?

I just found out that I am pregnant and I had my first ultrasound today. My cycles are usually 34-42 days long so I ovulate around day 21 of my cycle. According to the first day of my last cycle (May 17th) I should be six weeks and three days pregnant but I know that I didn t get pregnant until June 6-8th. In my ultrasound my gestational sac was 9mm but they did not see a yolk sac or fetal pole. I go back for another ultrasound is two weeks. Should I be worried? Is this normal?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI,
Welcome to HCM,
I read your query and i appreciate your concern regarding this issue.
At very early stage its difficult to find yolk sac or fetal pole,so do not worry about it. But you should go for ultrasound after two weeks for confirmation of fetal pole and heart beat.
Till then Take folic acid regularly and Take healthy balanced diet.
Go for regular check ups.
Hope so it will be helpful.
You can write again in case of any query or follow up.
Wish you good health.
