Is Generalized Itching All Over The Body A Side Effect Of Anti Tb Akurit Drug ?
Iamadiabetic for 10yrs.now i have been on anti tb Akurit 4 after 5 days of taking the drug i had generalised itching all over the body hence i have stopped for a week now today i have restated the drug i feel like having itching what to ndo now whether to stop the drug or treatment fo itching
I am so sorry to hear about this generalized itching you have. It is a side effect of this drug and specifically isoniazide. It is prevented and treated by administering pyridoxine(VitB6). I will like you to ask your doctor for this prescription so as to be able to control and relief yourself of this itch. Taking the treatment as prescribed is very important and stopping without talking to your doctor is not the best idea. Always talk to your doctor before stopping medications. This can lead to resistance and treatment failure.
This would help. I wish you well and stay compliant for the entire treatment term. Thanks
