Is Gallstone Removal Safe At Old Age?

Hi, my mom is 72 yrs old. She is diabetic. She had a urinary infection last month where her wbc count went up to 33000 and was on iv antibiotics. She was fine for a month and has now developed a stomach infection where her wbc count is at 18000. She also has a small gallstone but its not hurting her at all. She starts to shiver on and sweats it off after an hour or so. She is again on iv antibiotics. Need to know if the infection keeps accuring in different places due to the gallstone? Is it safe to remove the gallstone at this age (keeping in mind she is diabetic)? Or is there any other test that she should do? thanks

Welcome to hcm,
Short answer if asymptomatic there will be no necessity in removing the gall stones.
Detailed answer. If the pain is in the right upper quadrant of the abdomen then w
You can consider removing it or else it can be managed conservatively. If she has other problems consider treating those I don't find any association with gall stones in your condition hope this explains.
