Is Gall Bladder Removal The Only Solution For Cyst?

HI, I have a friend about to have surgery on a gall bladder cyst. they claim they have to remove the gall bladder. Does that need a specialist or general surgeon. She is confused and nervous (I am helping me not because "I have a friend:" but I am much better at Cyber thanks

Yes, this is the only option. Cysts are in most cases benign and sometimes these may cause pain and nausea. But we always recommend surgical removal as laparoscopic cholecystectomy since in future such cysts may become malignant and then this is problematic. Surgery is simple and routine today so you should not be concerned-
