Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My friend has suffered a cardiac arrest and his heart stopped for 35 minutes before paramedics got it beating. It has been 3 days and he has not come round and we are now waiting for results from a brain scan. What are the chances of a full recovery? How long will they keep him in intensive care if he continues to not respond. They ve tried to wake him up 3 times but no response. His heart and bodily functions are working though
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, if this is really 35 minutes without heart beat then this is much more time that could cause great damaged in the brain, and in this condition prognosis could be bad, but of course time is the best thing could tell us what would happened next, condition would be very uncertain, hope this information helps, take care.
