Is Frequent Usage Of Budicort And Levolin Safe For Children?

Dear Doctor, my son aged 6years old taking budicort200mg and levolin100mg puff for two years. whenver cough and cold our dr advised us to give him budicort 1 puff 3 times a day and levolin 2 puff three times a day if severe levolin 100 every 1 hr 1 puff.Now my son if he coughs immediatelyl ask us to puff.is it harmful to him but if we stop his cough and cold will become worser . your advice pl. Based on the history of persistent coughing and the medications that he is using, your son is an asthmatic.

During an acute asthmatic attack he is fighting to get air into his lungs because they have become narrow and may also be blocked with mucus.
An acute asthmatic attack can present with some or all of the following symptoms: coughing, shortness of breath, wheezing, chest tightness

It would be MORE HARMFUL NOT TO GIVE HIM HIS INHALER. The inhaler (the reliever) is helping to re open his airways.
The preventer is used to stop him from having these attacks.
