Is Flying Advisable For Elderly Shortly After Pacemaker Insertion?

Is it advisable for an elderly female with recent pacemaker/defibrilator (2 months) to fly. Complications are a severly damaged heart (1 stent, 1 angioplasty and 25-30% function). She has had two bouts of ischemic colitis, with very low Hematicrits (sp) and hemaglobin counts. Most recent was 15 and 5.7 where 4 units of blood were given so it seems her blood pressure and volume are not stable.

Welcome to hcm,
Short answer she can fly after a cardiologist consultation and opinion.
Detailed answer with a person accompanying her she can fly but with all her medications and she may another time need a review with a cardiologist before the journey.
You have to go the cardiologist with detailed medical history and recent INR results.
Hope this explains.
