Is First Aid Treatment Necessary For A Wrist Injury?

Hi. Three days ago I fell off my bike and injured my wrist, and got some bruises over my legs and torso, not worried about them. So few minutes after I got back up I felt a bit of pain in my wrist, but not very painfull as I managed to ride my bike for 5 miles. The next morning my wrist hurt a bit more, it wasn t neither swollen nor bruised, I could move it without pain for like 80% of the normal range of motion. It got better until today and its still not bruised or swollen. I know wrist injuries heal a bit longer but should I visit the doctor?

Hello

Thank you for posting at HCM.

As per the description provided by you, it definitely isn't a fracture. But its always advisable to get an XRay done in any case if the pain persists for more than 24 hours, or in any case of fall in general.

For the pain you can take any NSAIDs, we prefer muscular relaxants like Amzesik MR BD x 3 days and local application of NSAIDs.

You should see the doc to get an XRay done, and if there is any hairline fracture, he may immobilise it for few days.

Hope to have answered you satisfactorily . Feel free to post a new question in case of more queries.

Thank you.
