Is Fever And Appetite Loss When On Strep Throat Treatment A Serious Concern?

My daughter was diagnosed with strep throat on Tuesday of this week. The Doctor prescribed her 8ml of amoxicillin 1 time a day for 10 days. She is 3yrs old and 29 lbs. It is now friday. Shes been on the amoxicillin since Wednesday and she still has a fever and is sick with lack of appetite. Should I be worried?

Pediatrician, Pulmonology 's  Response
Hi...sometimes streptococcal sore throat will take 5-7 days to settle. With fever - loss of appetite is common in kids. If she is complaining of joint pains and palpitations (excessively irritable or fatigued), I advise you take her to her pediatrician. Other wise you can wait another 48 hours.
