General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
I appreciate your concern
You can plan for baby but i would advise you for spacing between your second baby at least for 3 years
You need not to worry high cholesterol and diabetes both are life style disease and it's progression can be halt with certain life style modifications and individual can lead a productive and healthy life with medicines and these modifications

Ask him to avoid smoking and alcohol which adversely affect the semen quality and sperm count
Exercise regularly
Avoidance of fatty fried and spicy junk food

Hope this answers your question
Best wishes
