I've had bouts of chest pressure and occasionally chest pain. I'm always kind of tired but I have periods where I completely bottom out and any activity feels like walking through water, my limbs and head so heavy. I also get short of breath easily when this happens. My ekg showed mild delayed conduction, qrs axis of -76 and abnormal q waves. My qrs was 133 ms. It also showed flat or negative T waves. The printout indicated probable MI in more than one place of the heart. They did an echo and chest X-ray but I don't know the results. I have an appt with the cardiologist but it's not for 6 weeks. Is exercise safe? How worried should I be?
Thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your situation and problem. By your history and description, in my opinion you are having cardiac disease. Your symptoms like chest pain, less energy, swelling in lower limbs, breathlessness etc are suggestive of heart related problem. Your ecg is also abnormal and suggestive of cardiac disease. So better to consult cardiologist first and start appropriate treatment. Avoid exercise, heavyweight lifting because all these can cause extra strain on heart and may aggravate your cardiac problem. So better to avoid exercise at present.
