Is Excessive Protein Intake Damaging To The Kidney?

I am body building and have been researching best food for it for years. So i take loads of protein as much as i can eat as well as healthy fruit veg and balanced diet with lots of water cardio exercise and heavy weights.

My concern is that i have read on your website which is " Excessive intake of protein (>2gm/Kg per

day) can lead to load on the kidney"

I know from the Steve jobs biography that too much of something that puts load on kidney can severely damage your health as it did with him from his diet of exclusively eating fructose.

Now im not that bad as i eat a balanced diet but my concern is that I'm still putting strain on my kidney from the massive amount of protein I'm eating. Its from a range of good sources, fish, chicken, ham, eggs but could i be still doing myself damage?

If the answer is that i may be doing myself damage is there a way to counter it by adding health to the liver to balance the damage its taking. I know there are foods said to be good for liver but i take it these will just lessen the damage and not make me immune for eating as much protein as possible?

I don't do steroids and I've put loads of work into learning how to be healthy - it would be a massive shame if i cant be a body builder without damaging my health....

Hi
This is confirm that if you have kidney disease than high protein diet should be avoided.
But in normal people, there is no such guidelines, although excessive of everything is dangerous.
You should see a dietician who can advice you about total protein intake as per your exercise, weight, daily schedule.
Hope this will help
