Is Endometriosis Removal Advisable While Having Negative HPV Result?

Hi last year I had a coloposcopy to remove high grade dysplasia precancerous cells from my cervix my 6 month screening was pushed back bc right after I had surgery to remove endometriosis from all over my ovaries uterus and everything else and following that I got pregnant. I just had my screen a little over a year later and it came back showing low grade lgsil with negative hpv. They said to check again in a year as it could juat be a yeast infection. I asked the nurse about it but she was not helpful. I m wondering a) I thought hpv does not go away and b) since I do not have any infections or any other problems with this why wait a whole year to look at it? Also when I had my son the scar tissue on my cervix was causing problem so they removed it all..could this cause further problems?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Your history suggests that your latest Pap smear test showed low grade squamous intra-epithelial lesion (LSIL).
LSIL as the name suggests low grade lesion and out of all LSIL cases 10% revert progress further to high grade SIL.
Rest 90% revert back to normal.
Thus, a repeat after 1 year duration is recommended and this is the protocol too.
In the LSIL stage there are full chances of herpes simplex infection (HSV) to clear away spontaneously.
Removal of scar tissue from cervix is not associated with the LSIL or HPV infection.
Thus, you can get the pap test repeated after 1 year.

Thanks and take care
