Is Dot Therapy Correct For Tuberculosis And Is It Genetic?

hi i m laxman from pune, having cough since 2 months and diagnosis shows as it is tuberculosis is dot theropy by government is correct? i have taken 3 doses of it. my child is of 12 months, is there are any chances for him to get infected? if yes what steps should we take to prevent same?

Thanks for your query.
Yes you are rightly put on DOTS therapy if you really have tuberculosis. If your sputum is positive for TB then there is high chance of spread to your baby and if it is sputum negative then chance is there but minimal. But 2 weeks of DOTS will make you non-infectious. So if possible keep yourself isolated for 2 weeks or so. Take the anti-TB drugs regularly as per schedule and make regular visit to doctors.
