Is Dexorange Syrup Safe To Use During Pregnancy?

Is dexorange syrup safe to take during pregnancy? Iam in the beginning of the 5th month, and have not started iron supplements yet. I had iron induced gastritis in the 3rd month due to one iron tablet i took post which i discontinued taking iron. Please advice. Thank you.

Hi,
Welcome to HCM!
It is unfortunate that you had to suffer from Iron induced gastritis earlier. However, Dexorange syrup provides iron in the form of Ferric Ammonium Citrate which is supposed to be one of the best tolerated iron supplements. You are unlikely to suffer from side effects, other than nausea. So I'd advice you to go ahead and use the syrup.
Hope your query has been answered. Feel free to ask for any other doubt.
Regards,
Dr. Sridhar Reddy
