Is Crp Level Of 110 A Cause For Concern?

I have a five month old baby suffering from mild fever which gets relieved on its own without medicine. He was born premature at 33 wks. He also has mild diarrhoea and occasional cough. His tests show Increased crp levels of 110 while the range is 0-5. Is it anything to get concerned about?

Hi,

Thanks for your question.

A CRP is of 110 is something to be worried about. The commonest cause would be an infection of some kind and so your child should be assessed medically to try and find a source for the likely infection.

I hope this answers your question.

Best wishes
