Is Copper T Safe To Wear?

Sir,
I have 2 kids. This month there was no periods. Consulting the doctor, she says you seem to be pregnant and asks me that you want to continue with this? I wanted to abort and they give mifepristone tablets. After 14 days,I went to scan, and they said all is well & there is no pregnancy. Next month i want to use Copper T. I search relating this. All are say that this is more painful ,cramping & more bleeding. I`m scared. Pls Advice me.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Intrauterine contraceptive devices (IUCDs) are one of the contraceptive methods.
Copper t is one of the IUCDs.
It is quite safe to use a copper T and is very effective in preventing pregnancy.
IUCDs with hormones (progesterone) are better option.
Some side effects like pain, heavy bleeding etc are experienced initially but these symptoms disappear after few months.
So, you can safely use an IUCD.

Thanks and take care
