Is Colonoscopy Required For Extended Stomach And Diarrhea?
my 89 year old father is suffering from an extended stomach as well as diarreha. They are putting him on a liquid diet and looking for an obstruction in the bowel. he does have acid reflux and heart conditons. They were considering a colonoscopy. Should he have it done

Dear I don't think there is a terminology of extended stomach but there is term distended stomach seen in bloating with fluid and gas..
probably colonoscopy not indicated in distended stomach until unless it is related to colon. your history not sufficient to clarify tour doubt,but please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly. I think I answered to your question if you have more questions feel free to ask.
