Is Cloudy Urine An Indication Of Urinary Tract Infection?

My 14 year old special needs, non-verbal daughter suffering from a broken femur seems to have cloudy urine. She has been removed from birth control pills for another 2 weeks to avoid blood clotting. We only give her an aspirin a day and Tylenol as needed. Curious if we should have her checked for a urinary tract infection?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HCM

Cloudy urine definitely indicates the possibility of urinary tract infection. Urine analysis and culture can confirm the diagnosis. Management is with antibiotics like nitrofurantoin. Make sure she drinks plenty of water to flush out the bacteria.Continue Tylenol.
Please be advised to follow up with primary provider for appropriate management.

Hope this answers your question
