Is Clarithromycin Tablet The Right Medicine For Conjunctivitis?

Hello, my son has bronchitis and was prescribed Clarithromycin, he also had the start of pink eye and was prescribed some drops for that but I was told to wait to see if the drainage from his eye was pink eye or just drainage from his sinus. Will the Clarithromycin help the pink eye or do I need to give him both medications

Hello
Welcome to Health care Magic.

I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that your son is having bronchitis and conjunctivitis.
Clarithromycin is an antibiotic drug and it will not be of much help in treating conjunctivitis. For treatment of conjunctivitis he need to use antibiotic eye drops like Moxifloxacin or tibramycin eye drops.

Hope this is helpful to you.
Do write back to me for further questions.

Thank you
