Is Chemotherapy Necessary For The Treatment Of Breast Cancer?

My husband has been diagnosed with male breast cancer - had a mastectomy & 3 lymph nodes were removed, one had a microscopic cancer cell. The recommendation is for 5 months of chemo - radiation is in a gray area, we were told. PET scan was negative. He feels he doesn t need this much chemo. He really doesn t want it at all, as he feels good & to sign himself up to be sick for a 50% chance of preventing a reoccurrence seems overkill. What is your opinion?

If the PET scan is negative, then you don't have to do this chemotherapy treatment,,but at a regular interval repeat this PET scan,,as if cancer appears again ,,we can handle it early before it spreads to other areas of th body
