Is Cetil 500 Safe To Use During Pregnancy?
Good Morning, I am 6 weeks pregnant,from 3 days I am suffering with severe cough and have throat pain also.I consult one doctor she gave me cetil 500 to eat.Is it safe to use in pregnancy? .and How to get relief from coughing? severe coughing affects my baby?

I have gone through your question and I understood your problem.
Cetil contains cefuroxim. Cefuroxime has been assigned to pregnancy category B by the FDA. Animal studies failed to reveal evidence of fetal harm. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Cefuroxime should only be given during pregnancy when need has been clearly established.Generally in my clinic I advice syrup Tus-Q which has given my patients nice benefits and yes chronic coughing can harm your pregnancy. So I will suggest you to consult with your obstetrician. Thank you.
