Is Car Driving Safe After A Mild Heart Attack?

My mother-in-law had a mild heart-attack due to two coronary arteries being 99% and 80% blocked just this past Wednesday and had stents put in. Her cardiologist has told her no driving for one week. Is riding (not driving) in a car for at least 4 hours just 4 days after this procedure safe? She is very hard-headed and insists she will be okay. I say that it's not safe>

Hello,
Welcome to HCM
I understand your concern.
Not only car driving, all types of activities should be minimal during this period because absolute rest is indicated in cardiac patients.
If she gets stressed up during this activities, her myocardial (heart muscle) oxygen supply and demand will get imbalanced and she may again land up in problems.
So i would advice her to take rest for atleast 4 weeks, then only gradually she can carry on her work.
Hope you are happy with the answer.
Thank you
