Is Burning Sensation During Urination A Sign Of Chlamydia?

Hi I have had burning sensation when I pass water . I am STD NEG as have been checked , I ve noticed this has gotten worse and now I can see what looks like skin Bits in my urine , not a bad odour but I ve noticed a difference from usual urine smell , pain in but cheeks , I am on antibiotics and am 4 days in for a 7 day course and doctor has sent my urine away as she said in a test at the clinic that there were blood and protein in my urine. I lead a gym healthy life and I probably have too much protein in my diet . What do u think and also I had chlamydia 2 years ago and it seems that all this has developed since then when I was cleared of it . Too much protein ? But what has caused this infection with the burning if it is that ? The pain in but cheeks developed with the chlamydia and burning prompting me to be checked , this was a year ago now and since being cleared I am still having this sensation and the above other symptoms have developed. Many Thx

Hello dear,

The symptoms suggest that you might be having Urinary tract infection.
Investigations like complete blood count, urine examination & Ultrasound scan of abdomen & pelvis will be helpful in clinching the diagnosis.

The treatment involves:
1. Drinking lots of water (it dilutes the urine & reduces the pain sensation)
2. Antibiotics based on culture sensitivity reports.
3. Avoid acidic foods, carbonated drinks and alcohol.
4. Maintain good hygiene.

There is no need to worry...you will be fine.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Take care.
