Is Budesonide A Generic Version Of Entocort?

Thank You, I have been given an RX for Budesonide for microscopic colitis. Both the pharmacist were stunned by the cost, $ 1093.00/mi.. As I understand it this is a generic based on Entocort and is made by Parr. If its a generic, why is it so costly?

Hi and thank you so much fr this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this huge price on budesonide. Yes, it is the generic version of entocort. As for the price, different pharmaceutical companies fix the price of their products and allow the consumers to make the choice whether to buy or not. If you find it too expensive, you may ask your pharmacist of what other options are left for you to get the same drug a a lower price.

I hope this helps. I wish you well.
Thanks.
