My doctor put me on 300mg Cipro for an acute urinary tract infection for 10 days.. .. I am concerned about the side effects with this drug that causes body pain... Not that I have pain but want to know what are my chances of this happening. Is this a common and permanent side effect. Is 300mg considered a high dose..

Hello!
I have been through your question.
According your question first related the dose of ciprofloxacini 300 mg is not considered a high dose, based on that normal dose is 1000 mg orally every 24 hours for UTI. So, you should know that ciprofloxacini have some commonly reported side effects include arthralgia, and major rare side effects like muscle pain or stiffness, pain in the joints, pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck, similar to yours. What I suggest in your case is to talk with your doctor and to decide after a physical examination (to see better the severity of pain) to stop or not the medication.

I hope my answer help you.
I wish you a quick recovery.
