Hello,
I have gone carefully through your query and understood your concern.

One of the most common symptoms of under active thyroid is depression.

If you have been diagnosed with bipolar before, propably the under active thyroid has worsen it.
I suppose you have started the treatment with levothyroxine but it will take some months to improve the humor, especially when the hypothyroidism is very low.

All you have to do is to take the tablets regularly and check the dose after 6 weeks. If the thyroid function is corrected and the symptoms persist than you have to see a psychiatrist.

Hope i was clear and helpful.

Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
